About this policy

This policy covers the Romaji iPhone app and its website, provided by Craftish. For privacy questions, email hello@craftish.dev.

Text and readings

Romaji uses a bundled dictionary and Apple’s on-device Japanese text analysis to generate readings. Text you type, paste, or share into Romaji is processed locally and is not sent to Craftish or a remote reading service.

The app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

History and preferences

Romaji saves up to 50 recent source texts and their reading dates on your device, along with your display and reading preferences. The app and its share extension can access this local history. Romaji does not provide an account or its own cloud sync.

You can swipe to delete individual history entries or clear all history from the History screen. Older entries are removed as the history limit is reached. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading the app may retain it. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple backup settings.

Copying and sharing

When you choose Copy, the selected text is placed on the system clipboard. When you share a reading or a reading report, the content is passed to the app or service you choose. Those services handle it under their own privacy policies. Review the content before sharing if it includes personal information.

Contacting support

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond, investigate issues, and provide support. Our email provider processes these messages to deliver and store them.

We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and related follow-up, or to meet legal obligations. You can request deletion by emailing hello@craftish.dev. We do not sell your personal information or use support messages for advertising.

This website

The website does not include advertising or analytics scripts. It saves your chosen colour theme in your browser’s local storage. You can remove that preference by clearing this site’s browser data.

Our hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as your IP address, browser information, and requested page, to deliver and secure the website. Visiting the site does not send it your reading history or text from the app.
